Learning How To Play And Master The Piano

September 30th, 2009 by ama

A willing person of any age can learn how to play the piano. Books and printouts can be referenced at the piano, making them preferable to online tutorials. Regardless of whether you use a piano or keyboard, learning how to play the piano is as easy as one-two-three, or rather A-B-C.

Attaining piano lesson material is the first step in learning how to play piano. This includes sheet music and books for beginner piano players. Local music stores, bookstores, and online stores can supply you with these. If you are interested in DVD material, sites such as http://www.learn-and-master-piano.com provide reviews of some popular programs. Sometimes great deals can be found at second-hand thrift stores and used book stores. Once you have acquired a fair amount of “piano for beginners” material, it is time to begin.

Piano keys are indicated by the letters A to G. Middle C is the first key taught to beginners Middle C is the center of the piano with higher and lower notes to each side – higher to the right and lower to the left. Keys colored black are known as “flat” (b) and “sharp” (♯), while white keys are termed “natural”. Flat and sharp terms apply to black keys because when played, the tone is higher or lower than the natural key that is to its right or left, respectively. To minimize confusion, learn the natural keys first, memorizing and being comfortable playing all of these keys before learning the sharps and flats.

It is helpful to know where to place your fingers, when learning to play the piano. The right-hand thumb plays middle C, with the remaining fingers taking place over the D, E, F, and G natural keys. The natural B key to the left of middle C is for the thumb of your left hand, with the fingers placed down the A-E keys. Placed lightly on the keys, your fingers should be somewhat curved.

When you have achieved being able to play the keys by memory, you have enough understanding to begin learning sheet music. Shown below is an image that should appear in one of your lesson books, as it illustrates the notes and which piano key they correspond to.

Learning how to play songs is the next step once you are proficient with sheet music basics, in addition to having memorized the piano keys and finger placement. After you have practiced enough to be able to play all of your beginner lessons flawlessly, you can proceed to more challenging sheet music and/or lesson books for intermediate players. Music theory, chords, chord patterns, and piano technique are some of the additional skills you can expect to acquire as your abilities advance.

It is hoped that this article offered sufficient knowledge of playing the piano and can transition you into more advanced ventures. Keep in mind that not everyone is able to learn to play the piano with ease. The process of learning to play the piano will prove arduous as well as rewarding.

A Musical Genuis: Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

September 30th, 2009 by ama

There isn’t a student of music that can study their craft properly without spending some time learning about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart trivia. Although we know him mostly as Mozart, a Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart quiz will show that he was actually born as Johannes Chrystomus Wolfganus Theophilus Mozart.  He was born in Salzburg, and is thought by most to be the most perfect example of a child prodigy in music history. He was learning music by the age of four, and composing by the age of seven.

The legend of the child prodigy spread early in Mozart’s life. His family would be able to travel and showcase him, as such, to many of the important people and royals throughout Europe, as he would play at many of the most influential courts. He would travel for many years before obtaining a job as a permanent musician in the court at Salzburg. He would compose in almost every genre he could think of while at court, and many of those pieces are now considered among the most classic pieces in the entire musical canon of the period.

After this, he would time in Paris before finally ending up in Vienna.  A Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart quiz shows that Vienna would serve as his home for many years, although he would not take a position at court in Vienna. He would marry in Vienna, and have six children. Mozart would also become friends with other notable musicians of the time, notably Haydn.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart trivia shows that he died very young, and was only 35 years old when he passed away in Prague. This was shortly after he had completed his most famous Opera, the Magic Flute. In addition to his many operas, he wrote string quartets, piano concertos, violin sonatas, and in almost every other musical form that was written in during his time.

Mozart was remembered as being a thin, almost hyperactive man because of the furor with which he attacked pieces as he was trying to meet his deadlines. His character has been portrayed in fiction many times. The most famous of these is “Amadeus”, which was written by Peter Shaffer. The role of Mozart was originally played by Simon Callow when the play debuted on stage, but the play would then also be translated to a film version. In the film, Tom Hulce played Mozart, and the film received much critical acclaim, including an Academy Award for Best Picture.

Punk band makes big money in Canada by winning the Polaris prize

September 30th, 2009 by ama

Now it is very unusual for a band such as this to win the prize which is actually equivalent to Britain’s mercury prize. The band name itself it rather obscene as they go by the name of “F***ed up”. The band are doing something very good with the money they have earned by gaining this award.

Although the band were actually banned from MTV after apparently absolutely wrecking a bathroom and nearly causing a riot their plans for the money are a lot less extreme. They are not keeping it for themselves, are not spending it on booze, fags and drugs but doing something rather honourable. They are to go off and make a benefit album to raise the awareness about the hundreds of missing aboriginal women in Canada.

The “Sisters in Spirit” already fight to raise the awareness as literally hundreds have been reported missing or murdered. They fight to provide them with the rights that any human being should have and ask why the rate of women that are going missing has slowly been on the rise. As well as this they have been looking around to see if there are any major trends in the women that are being taken here.

So although the band’s front man loves to strip down to his pants and smash bottles over his head it just goes to show that the man does care about the people of his country (will pay out a lot of money that he and his band worked for) rather than keep it for themselves.

Canads is a very nice place to taker a vacartion at. Whether it is going to be an Alaskan cruise or just the holidays in Canada there is something for everyone.  Of course if you do not like relaxing on holiday or want to take the family on a trip why not check out villas in Florida.

September 30th, 2009 by ama

MP3 players have become little entertainment systems.  What started out to be simply an advanced type of recorder has now become a great resource for the technological minded individual.  Samsung MP3 players cover a wide variety of types and styles. One must evaluate the specific needs or desires for their specific Samsung MP3 player when choosing a model.  Does the player need to simply be able to play music or are there more advanced requirements? Also, what compatibility do the Samsung MP3 players offer?   How much space or information does the user require?Samsung offers several models of MP3 players that can all meet specific needs.

Samsung MP3 Player Models

The most advanced Samsung MP3 players have a lot to offer.  These players play not only music but also videos, photos, text viewing, voice recording and flashings games.  There is even a model which offers slide out built-in speakers.  Of course, if all these options are used the storage capacity becomes a major issue.  Samsung does offer choices in this area including 2, 4, and 6GB.  The simplest Samsung MP3 player will be useful for the individual who only wants to download and listen to favorite songs and artists. These players have less storage capacity but are adequate for many hours of music.  A nice feature in some of the models is the rechargeable lithium batteries. This can be a money saver over the long term.  Of course, with all the technology offered by Samsung MP3 players sometimes the look and shape of the player is the most important aspect to the individual.

Styles Of MP3 Players

Samsung does offer many shapes and styles of MP3 players.  Some players are small in size and suitable for carrying in a jacket or pants pocket.  Some players are more suited to clipping on a belt or waistline.  Samsung also offers the pendant style player that can be worn around the neck.  If a person will be using the player for self entertainment while exercising or just around the house the pendant style may be a nice option.  If an individual will be using the player while at work or other public places a better option may be a player which can be somewhat hidden from view.  This may also attribute to the choice of color for the player.  Samsung MP3 players come in a variety of colors including black, white, blue, pink and purple depending on the model.  If fashion is a big concern then color may be the deciding factor.  Whatever the needs or desires of an individual, Samsung MP3 players have something to offer.

Download MP3

September 30th, 2009 by ama

The MP3 movement started on a huge audience of music enthusiasts on the web. The MP3 digital music data format has had, and will go on to have, a huge impart on how people, gather, listen to and share music.

The MP3 data format is a compressing system for digital music that helps reduce the size of a digitized song without worrying the sound quality. Digital music is converted to MP3 format and made available for use, commonly via the web. MP3 data files can be downloaded onto your computer from the internet and special software, either commercial or freeware. Using your computer and software you`ll be able to convert digital music from a CD into MP3 format.

MP3 files can be played in three another ways:

1. They can be played at once onto your computer.

2. They  can be decompressed and recorded onto a CD.

3. These files can be played on a portable MP3 player.

The advantage of MP3 players is that they are small, lightweight and rugged. They`re a great way to carry your MP3 files with you!

With a portable MP3 player, a personal computer, and the appropriate software, you can do the following:

1. Obtain free or low-cost music from the web.

2. Make your own mix of music by downloading MP3 files from the web and converting the tracks from CDs.

3. Listen to near-CD quality music wherever you go.

4. Listen to more music (up to 10 hours’ worth).

If you would like to convert your songs from your CDs into MP3 files, you can use ripper and encoder software. A ripper copies a song’s file from the CD onto your hard disk. The encoder compresses the song into the MP3 format. By encoding songs, you can play them on your computer or take them with you on your MP3 player. The ripper and encoder software may come with your MP3 player.

The specific instructions will vary with the individual software programs, but the following steps will definitely take place:

1. Place the CD from which you want to convert songs into your drive.

2. choice the track(s) that you want to convert to MP3 format.

3. Convert the selected track(s).

4. Copy the new MP3 files on to your computer’s hard disk.

Now you are ready to download these MP3 files into your portable MP3 player.

When you`ve MP3 files on your computer, you`ll be able to use the software that came with your MP3 player to download the files into your MP3 player. Again, the specific instructions will vary depending upon your software program and player, but you will:

1. Create a playlist from your MP3 files.

2. Plug the player into your computer’s parallel of USB port.

3. Transfer the MP3 files according to the instructions.

Once you`ve downloaded the MP3 files into your portable MP3 player, you are ready to take your music anyplace. Almost MP3 players are small, lightweight, and solid-state. Since most players are solid-state, there are no running parts to break down or skip, so the audio quality is uninterrupted regardless of your physical activity. MP3 players are equipped with various types of headphones or earpieces.

Portable MP3 players can play music longer than a portable CD player. The length of play for a CD player is about 74 mins, the duration of one CD. Even so, the length of play for an MP3 player depends upon its memory capacity, which can be upgraded on some. A standard MP3 player can play for about half an hour (32 MB) to a few weeks (40 GB)! More or less models can be upgraded with other memory devices.along with your MP3 player is that you may get a discount on your purchase.
